Writing Update: Two More Books Published

Well, I'm shocked to see how long it has been since I have been on here and posted anything.Yet, I have been writing and working hard. This year I have had two more books published. The eighth Conrad book is now in print. You can purchase The Conrad Chronicles: Reunited at lulu.com, where you can find all my novels. In this eighth Conrad novel: Designator Lewis Bayrd III, Commander of Gallan, has successfully located the space colonists, who departed Karna so long ago they were thought to be myth. Unfortunately, the Carmines he believed he had left behind have followed him, and soon he will learn the truth: The Carmine enemy, the enemy of all humanity, were created by Xavier of the House of Baldemar. Gallan’s arrival in the Moultons changes the plans of all. The Underground now has a new foe to fight in the Carmines, besides the Atraylens and slavers they already battle. The “misfits” aboard the Lusive, as well as the Star Defenders, must decide if they will help those who had forced them to abandon Karna and now return to their birth planet. Captain Lucy Gloria Lucas not only must prepare to face Xavier, her mother’s murderer, but adjust to the presence of Captain Apollo Bayrd, the man she Conrad soul bonded before leaving Earth. She also still doesn’t know where her Uncle Zeplan has gone off too, and must locate him, to fulfill the Keeper of Path’s prophecy. *** For those of you who are following this space fantasy series, book nine is written and well be out in 2024.

In addition, another book of mine in a totally different genre was published. This is a book of chilly ghost tales. Ghost Tales from Northern California's Highway 101 was released this summer. It is also available at lulu.com. Welcome to chilling stories from Northern California's Highway 101. Ghosts, spooks and other supernatural creatures hide within these pages. Spine tingling tales from behind the Redwood Curtain will send you exploring ship wrecks, haunted houses and up the old Highway 101 now known as Bell Springs Road. Enjoy.

Editing

Hoorah!  I spent a couple of hours editing the second Conrad novel today.  I managed to squeeze it in around watching my friends 9 ducks, rabbit, and cat, tending my own home and dogs, and the rest of my life.

Unfortunately, my critique partner called today. He's been sick all week, so we probably won't meet this weekend.

On the positive side, I did get the corrections mailed off to the editor at Quixote Press. Am I being to hopeful thinking this book may be out before Christmas?

Creating and promoting

Creating is a glorious process.  The absorption of the mind so that it focuses on something beyond itself is a wonderful feeling.  Unfortunately a writer has to break away from that magical spell to promote his/her writing these days. So here I am.

Currently I have two books published.  One though, will be out of print shortly (Thank God, it's been with an evil publisher for way too long.  They actually thought they could sell a trade paperback for $27.95.  I love the book and wouldn't pay that much for it).

Thus, the book I am here to promote is Callings: Tales of the Conrads of Karna.  Here's the excerpt from the press release.

“The Light knows. There is a plan.  Release the past.” –Raphael, the first Conrad of the Light

The planet Karna has suffered for generations under the rule of the corrupt High Kings. Pollution fills the seas.  Mountains have been toppled. Deserts encase much of the land.

It is to this world Light calls Raphael to be the first Conrad: a human gifted with the power to call and transform energy.  Yet Raphael will not follow Light alone, others will join him and Conrad Communities will be formed.

This collection of short stories plunges the reader into the world of the Conrads and reveals the trials and struggles of the Conrads as they battle to heal their homeworld.  Within these pages you will journey with Raphael, Bruner, Serenity, and the other Conrads of Karna as they find the strength to follow and obey the Light for the betterment of their planet.

Intrigued?  I hope so.

Callings is available at lulu.com, amazon.com and through  most book stores using the ISBN number (ISBN: 978-0-557-09712-8)

Now I'm off to do more creating.  I am going to drift back into that glorious bubble and work on the Conrad novel Realizations, as well as helping a friend promote her own novel.
